BioMagdalena Zych (b. 1990) is a painter working in oil, developing a biomorphic visual language inspired by biology, ecosystems, and interspecies relationships. Her works combine observation of natural forms with elements of imagination, creating images in which the boundaries between organisms become blurred.
In her painting cycles, she explores nature as a system of interdependence and a space of constant transformation. In recent years, she has been developing, among others, the Hygrophilic series, dedicated to aquatic environments and hygrophilous organisms, and Forest Floor, focused on the micro-world of forest litter, as well as processes of decomposition and regeneration of matter.
Her practice also includes spatial works, in which she creates immersive environments referencing biological processes of growth and transformation.
She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (2016). Her works have been presented, among others, at BWA Warszawa, CAMP Gallery (Miami), Van Rij Gallery (Kraków), and during the VOLTA Art Fair in New York.
